My Story
Hey! I’m Abbey, and I founded Lilac CPA, LLC to create a professional, approachable, and human-centered accounting firm.
I grew up in a small town and worked my way into a career that’s taken me far beyond where I started in life. Along the way, I’ve had the opportunity to work with individuals and businesses from diverse backgrounds, industries, and financial situations. This has shaped both how I work and what I value.
I have held progressive leadership roles in accounting, finance, and product at PwC, Loomis Sayles, Northern Trust, and Rocket Travel, a Booking Holdings Company. I bring a strong technical foundation in accounting, tax preparation, bookkeeping, and financial analysis, but I don’t believe numbers exist in a vacuum.
Behind every spreadsheet is a real person, a family, a business, and a set of goals that matter.
Lilac CPA is intentionally boutique and relationship-focused. I’m here to be a steady, trusted partner.

Why Lilac?
There was a lilac bush in the backyard of the house where I grew up. Since then, the smell of lilacs has always made me think of home.
After my partner and I bought a home in Chicago, I was so pleasantly surprised when spring came and the tree in the front yard started to bloom. Of course it was a lilac tree!
Lilacs keep me grounded in home and family.
